THE GIBRALTAR RAOB CHARITY CARDBOARD BOAT RACE 2022 

 

The William Tilley Lodge of the RAOB is pleased to announce that the 2022 Annual Charity

Cardboard Boat Race has raised a fantastic total sum of;

to be split between To be decided upon & the GBC Open Day Appeal.

 

The organisers said that they would like to express their huge gratitude to Ocean Village for hosting their event and preparing such a spectacular venue along with their  donation of £?????? towards the total funds raised and hope that they will continue to be able to hold the event in the Marina in the future.

 

The organisers said, that in addition to the generosity of the sponsors, he would like to give sincere thanks to over 50 local businesses for donating all of the prizes on the day which made up the vast majority of the funds raised through the sale of raffle tickets, and added that all concerned owed a huge debt of gratitude to those small businesses & to the general public on the Rock for purchasing so many tickets.

 

'We are always amazed by the ingenuity of the boat designs & this year's vessels have proved to be as creative & outstanding as in previous years' said the organisers, and added 'The event was more successful than ever with great fun being had by all'. The organisers, along with the beneficiaries gave profound thanks to all those who took the time & effort to build boats and enter the race, without whom there would be no race in the first place!. 

 

The organisers said that they would soon be starting preparations for next year's event and stated that they hoped for even more entrants with even bigger crowds, they went on to say that the  winning raffle ticket numbers would be printed in the Gibraltar Chronicle & the Panorama during the week, and they will be publishing on the society's website  & reminded potential crews & public alike to keep visiting the website at www.raobgibraltar.org/2022-cardboard-boat-race for news on the 2023 Boat Race!
